The Sibley East varsity girls track team competed in a trio of meets last week, according to head coach Jill Warzecha.
The Lady Wolverines will host the Minnesota River Conference Track and Field Meet in Arlington on Thursday, May 16.
True Team Section
The Sibley East varsity girls track team placed eighth among 16 teams during the Minnesota State True Team Section 4A Track and Field Meet at Maple Lake on Tuesday afternoon, May 7. Maple Lake captured top honors in the meet.
All athletes score points in the true team meet. Thirty-two points are awarded for a first place finish while one point is given for last place.
Megan Eckberg and Megan Krentz sparked the Lady Wolverines with first place finishes.
Eckberg placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.77 seconds.
Krentz took first in the discus event with a toss of 94’10.”
Alyssa Weber placed third in the 400 meter dash.
Krentz also placed fourth in the shot put event.
Eckberg also placed seventh in the long jump event. Another seventh place winner was the Sibley East 4 X 200 meter relay team (Megan Eckberg, Megan Krentz, Kelli Martens and Alyssa Weber).
The Sibley East 4 X 400 meter relay team placed eighth. The foursome included Alyssa Weber, Ella Lundstrom, Alison Eibs and Karina Robeck.
The Sibley East 4 X 800 meter relay team placed ninth. The group consisted of Ella Lundstrom, Lea Meuller, Karina Robeck and Alison Eibs.
Natalie Mesker placed 10th in the discus event.
