Betty June Mathwig, 80, Waconia

Betty June Mathwig, age 80, of Waconia, passed away peacefully at her home in Waconia on Thursday Sept. 11. 
Funeral service was held at the Westview Seventh Day Adventist Church in Excelsior  at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15. Rev. Marshall Bowers officiated. 
Casket bearers were her grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14. It continued one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday, Sept. 15.
Interment was in the Arlington Public Cemetery. 
Betty was born to Lloyd and Mabel (Nuessmeier) Nyblom in Le Sueur on June 18, 1934. On May 25, 1957, Betty was united in marriage to Chester Mathwig at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.
 Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Being with family was a top priority in her life. She was a member of the Tops Club in Excelsior and the Westview Seventh Day Adventist Church in Excelsior. Betty enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and was a great cook. She loved taking care of her flowers in the back yard of her home. Betty was always having fun throughout her life in whatever she was doing.  
Betty is survived by her loving family: husband, Chester Mathwig; children and spouses, Valarie Neubarth of Arlington, Timothy Mathwig (Gay Wakeman) of Waconia, Veronica Thomson of Eden Prairie, Virginia (Michael) Bailey of Chanhassen, Thomas (Andrea) Mathwig of Waconia, Vanessa (Dave) Schmidtlein of Victoria,  and Travis Mathwig (Kristal Luedloff) of Waconia; grandchildren, Ashley Neubarth, Daniel (Melissa) Neubarth, Max Bailey, Everett Thomson, Carl Mathwig, Halley Thomson, Stone Bailey, Levi Mathwig, Jade Bailey, Peach Schmidtlein, Nigel Schmidtlein and Scarlett Schmidtlein; brothers and sister-in-law Vern Nyblom, Bob and Ellie Nyblom, and Gary Nyblom; sisters, Marilyn Hager and Denise Nyblom; sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, Joyce Nyblom, Walter and Eileen Mathwig, Elsie Sturm, Gladys and Gilbert Mathwig of Green Isle; and nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Sr. and Mabel Nyblom; brother, Lloyd Nyblom Jr.; sister, Shirley Nyblom; brother-in-law, Joe Hager; sister-in-law, Virginia Nyblom; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Minnie and Arthur Mathwig; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ernie and Dorothy Mathwig, and Manley and Elvera Mathwig.
