Deadline for Kranz to post surety bond is Feb. 2

The Honorable Kevin Eide, Judge of the District Court, has set Monday, Feb. 2 as the deadline for rural Gaylord resident Nathan Kranz to post a $295,000 surety bond to proceed with his appeal.
Kranz is appealing the recent ruling by Judge Eide that dismissed a lawsuit and upheld the recent passage of the Sibley East Public Schools’ $43 million building bond referendum.
Kranz filed the appeal with the Clerk of the Appellate Court at the Minnesota Judicial Center in St. Paul on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
Judge Eide recently ordered that Kranz deposit a $295,000 surety bond with the court before the appeal process could move forward. No date or deadline, however, was included in that order.
