Elaine Breitkreutz, 100, Arlington

Elaine Breitkreutz, age 100, of Arlington, passed away at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Funeral service will be held at the Arlington United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18. Rev. Rod Stemme will officiate. 
Visitation was held at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17. It will continue one hour prior to the service time at the church on Thursday, Sept. 18.  
Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Elaine was born to Edward and Martha (Baugatz) Alwin in Brown County on Sept. 30, 1913. She graduated from high school in Lakota, N.D. in 1929 at the age of 15.  She married LeRoy Breitkreutz at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Arlington Township on Nov. 25, 1934. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and later became the Sunday School Superintendent.  She was also a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. Elaine enjoyed square dancing, volunteering, playing piano at the Good Samaritan, baking, gardening, caring for animals and was always eager in learning new things.
Elaine is survived by her son, Douglas Breitkreutz of Asheboro, N.C.; daughter, Donna Burger of North St. Paul; grandchildren, Kelley Whitley and Michael (Katrin) Breitkreutz;  great-grandchildren, Nikole and Bryn Whitley, and Sean, Lara and Julia Breitkreutz; and sister, Dolores Bandelin.  
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; infant son, Wayne Ross; six brothers and one sister.
