Sibley County Administrator Matt Jaunich has informally accepted the position as Hutchinson City Administrator.
Jaunich announced the news at the Board of Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Jaunich stated that he will be with Sibley County for at least another 30 days, if not through the end of the year.
County Commissioner Bill Pinske pointed out two issues that need to be addressed.  First, the need to retain a consulting firm to begin a search and second to address the need to hire an interim administrator. Pinkse stated that Springsted Incorporated will come to the Nov. 25 board meeting to furnish a cost proposal. The board is expecting the cost proposal to be somewhat lower than last time because it has only been two years since Springsted’s services were utilized. Springsted should be able to use much of the same data. The second issue that the board will have to address is who, if anyone, should be appointed as interim administrator.  Both issues will be addressed at the Nov. 25 board meeting.
