Sibley East graduate Liz Thies, a freshman from rural Green Isle, recently scored the first hole-in-one in the history of Morningside College women’s golf program.

The hole-in-one occurred during the Nebraska Wesleyan Pink Classic at Pioneers Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb, on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Thies aced the 120-yard par three 16th hole with a nine-iron.

Thies finished her round with a 92. She is the daughter of Brian and Rose Thies, rural Green Isle.
