Officials from the Sibley East Public Schools and City of Gaylord continue to negotiate a land swap in connection with the proposed Sibley East building bond referendum.
If voters in the Sibley East School District support the building bond referendum on Tuesday, Nov. 4, the two entities would swap land for the construction of an elementary school in Gaylord.
The elementary school, if the building bond referendum passes, would be constructed on city-owned property east of the stormwater pond in Gaylord between Highways 19 and 5, Lincoln Avenue East and County Road 21.
According to Superintendent Jim Amsden, the City of Gaylord has interest to acquire the entire softball field and former track area land adjacent to Highway 22. The City of Gaylord currently only owns the area where the concession stand is located.
