Cheryl  St. John, age 59, of Arlington, passed away at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center on Thursday, May 19.  
Funeral services were held at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23.
A visitation was held at Peace Lutheran Church from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 22. It continued one hour prior to the service time at the church on Monday, May 23.
Interment was in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington handled the arrangements.
Cheryl Sue St. John was born to Dale E. and Viola (Brockoff) St. John in Gaylord on June 17, 1956.  Cheryl was baptized by Pastor John Bradtke at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington on July 8, 1956. She was confirmed in the Christian faith by Pastor John Bradtke at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington on March 22, 1970.  Cheryl graduated from the Arlington-Green Isle High School on May 29, 1974. Cheryl furthered her education at Jackson Area Vocational Technical Institute where she earned a Nurse’s Aide diploma and later at Hutchinson Technical College where she earned her Clerk Typist/Office Assistant diploma.  She was employed by Southdale Manor, Holiday Inn, Embers, Wiman Corporation and 19 years at Big Stone, Inc./Seneca Foods where she retired due to health reasons. Cheryl enjoyed reading, playing games and bringing her nieces and nephews to the Lido Theater.  She especially loved spending time surrounded by her family telling stories; the “bat story” will forever be a family favorite.  She also enjoyed visiting on the phone with extended family and friends.  Cheryl moved to Aveyron Homes in Hutchinson in 2015 where she met and made her “second family” and there enjoyed life to the fullest until March of 2016 when she came home to Arlington to spend her final days surrounded by her family and friends in Ridgeview Hospice at Arlington Good Sam.
Cheryl is survived by her parents, Dale and Viola St. John of Arlington; brothers, Daryl (Lori) St. John and Gary St. John (special friend Jamie Grams-Petzel) of Arlington; nephews and nieces, Nicholas St. John (special friend Jen Anderson), Brennen, Trevor and Gracie St. John, Meagan (Kyle) DeVlaeminck, Candice Gilster (fiancé Jason Tostenson), Talia Gilster (special friend Victor Ruiz), and Lexi and Sammi Petzel; great-nieces and nephews, Arayah Hope, Cole, Bailey, Draco, Mason, Christian, Harper and Sullivan and many other family and friends.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Caroline St. John and William and Alma Brockoff.
