Only one resident asked questions as the Arlington City Council held its annual Truth In Taxation public hearing on Monday evening, Dec. 5.
The City Council, a few months ago, had unanimously adopted a resolution to approve the preliminary 2016 tax levy for collection in 2017 to a 4.2 percent hike.
The City Council, after a few workshops, has trimmed roughly $13,500 out of the budget since September. The revised tax levy would only reflect a 2.5 percent increase.
A continued Truth In Taxation public hearing will be held on Monday night, Dec. 19.
