Joan Ruth Weckop, 72, Greensburg, Ind.

Joan Ruth Weckop 72, of Greensburg, Ind., passed away at her home on Wednesday April 20.
A celebration of life was held at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 27. Pastor Jeff Pflug officiated. Burial will take place at a later date.
Joan was born to Waldemar and Eleanore (Kohls) Ruschke in Arlington on May 1, 1938. She was a 1955 graduate of Arlington-Green Isle High School.  Joan was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Greensburg Guild of Quilters.  Joan worked at the Greensburg High School as a secretary from 1979 until her retirement in 2004. She was also a homemaker.  She married Chester Weckop in Arlington on Aug. 11, 1956.
Joan is survived by her husband, Chester Weckop; daughter Tracy (Mark) James of Hattiesburg, Miss.; sons,  Nate (Deanie) Weckop of Greensburg, Ind., Mitchell (Diane) Weckop of Green Bay, Wis., and Mark Weckop of Greensburg, Ind.; sisters, Ellen Henning of Bloomington, Amy Nieland of Arlington, and Romona Pauley of Jordan; brothers: Wally Ruschke of Glencoe, and Palmer Ruschke of St. Paul.  She is also survived by grandchildren, J.D. Crook, Amanda and Paul Weckop, Jonathan and Anna Grace Woods, Tori and Tim Simpson. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Karen Herd.
