Paul E. Meffert, 51, St. Paul
Paul E. Meffert age 51, of St. Paul, formerly of Le Sueur, died at Regions Hospital in St. Paul on Sunday, April 22.
Funeral service will be held at the Fort Snelling National Memorial Chapel, St. Paul, at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26.
Visitation was held at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25.
Interment with full military honors will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26.
Paul was born to Gerald and Melba (Tellijohn) Meffert in Arlington, on Oct. 7, 1960. He graduated from the Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1979. He entered and served in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul with a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement. He worked for many years as a sergeant in the St. Paul Police Dept. until his recent illness with pancreatic cancer. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and camping with his family.
Paul is survived by his children, Katyana (Peter) Miller of Le Sueur, Robert Meffert of Le Sueur and Cassandra Meffert of St. Paul; grandchildren, Lilyanna Zeglin and Dylan Beseke; parents, Gerald and Melba Meffert of Arlington; siblings, David Meffert of Arlington, John (Lisa) Meffert of Arlington and Amy (Jeff) Jambeck of Appleton, Wis.; former wife, Iris Meffert of St. Peter; and many nieces and nephews.
