LaVerna Dahlke, age 85, of Green Isle Township, rural Arlington, passed away at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home in Chaska on Sunday, April 22.
Funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Green Isle Township at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26.
Visitation was held at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, and continued one hour prior to the service time at the church on Thursday, April 26.
Interment will be at the Arlington Public Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26.
LaVerna Frances Dahlke was born to Henry and Louise (Schuth) Bluemke in Green Isle Township on Oct. 27, 1926. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle on Nov. 14, 1926, and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Green Isle Township, on April 28, 1940. On Feb. 12, 1946, she married Arthur Dahlke at Zion Lutheran Church. LaVerna and Arthur lived and farmed east of Arlington for approximately three years and in the fall of 1950 moved to a farm north of Arlington. She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, reading, playing cards, and helping with farming.
LaVerna is survived by her children; Richard (Mary) Dahlke of Dassel, Edith Severson of St. Paul, LeRoy Dahlke of Spicer, Maynard (Janelle) Dahlke of Arlington, and Rita Dahlke of Bloomington; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harry Dahlke of Chicago, Ill.; and sister-in-law, June Dahlke of Waconia.
LaVerna is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; daughter-in-law, Darlene Dahlke; son-in-law, Mike Severson; brother, Ferdinand Bluemke; and sisters, Sophie Schauer, Esther Bullert and Louise Schwirtz.
