LeRoy Dale Winter, age 67, of Arlington, died at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington on Wednesday, May 24.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30. Pastor Bruce Hanneman officiated.
Visitation was held at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29. Visitation continued one hour prior to the service time at the church on Wednesday, May 30.
Interment was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington.
LeRoy was born to Louis and Flora (Laabs) Winter in Glencoe on May 22, 1945. He was baptized by Rev. Berthold Streufert at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle on June 10, 1945. He was confirmed by Rev. H.J. Malotky at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle on June 7, 1959. He graduated from the Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1963. In 1966, LeRoy joined the U.S. Army, and served as a repairman during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1968. On Aug. 7, 1971, he was united in marriage to Lois Laabs by  Rev. James G. Bollhagen at St. John’s Lutheran Church Mountville in Gaylord. For 20 years, he worked at Farmhand in Green Isle, and then moved on to Schwartz Manufacturing in Lester Prairie for five years, and most recently was employed at Plato Woodwork for 20 years.
LeRoy had a passion for antique cars and tractors, and was a proud veteran.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, David and Michael Winter all of Arlington, sister, Shirley (Bill) Schauer of Green Isle; nephews, Rodney Schauer and Bradley (Chris) Schauer; mother-in-law, Allina Laabs of Arlington; sister-in-law, Darlene Schuette of Gaylord; brother-in-law, Wayne Laabs of Winthrop; and many other relatives and friends.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Edwin Laabs; and brother-in-law, Darrell Schuette.
