Berniece E. Wentzlaff, 90, Gaylord

Berniece E. Wentzlaff, age 90, of Gaylord, formerly of the Arlington area, died on Saturday, Oct. 18.  
Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Arlington, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22.  Father Keith Salisbury officiated the Mass.
Visitation was held at the church from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22. 
Interment followed the Mass at the Arlington Public Cemetery.    
Berniece was born to Matthew and Ethel (Trimbo) Robeck in Jessenland Township on July 10, 1924. She grew up in the Jessenland area and graduated from the Arlington High School. She married Elmer Wentzlaff at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Green Isle on Sept. 18, 1946.  The couple raised their family in the Arlington area.  She worked at Noacks and Rosenbergs egg plants in Arlington and Gaylord and she worked 22 years at Fingerhut in Gaylord.  She was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington and the St. Mary’s C.C.W. Berniece enjoyed cooking, baking and sending cards to relatives and friends.  She especially enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Shirley (Arvid) Soeffker of Arlington, Gary (Sandy) Wentzloff of Gaylord, and Karen (Gary) Johnson of Gaylord;  grandchildren; Mark (Marcy) Soeffker, Michele (Jim) Krueger, Kari (Tom) Bartz, Denver Wentzloff, Jacob Johnson and Angela Johnson;  great-grandchildren, Mitchell Soeffker, Corinne Krueger, Nathan Krueger, Katelyn Krueger and Alex Thomas Bartz;  siblings, Mary Slusher of Oregon, Ann Bigaouette of Henderson, Sylvia (Robert) Bigaouette of Henderson, and Joe Robeck of Arlington.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; twin-sister, Bernette Brelje; and brothers, Matthew, Mark and Harris.
