The Sibley County Board, during its regular meeting on Tuesday morning, Aug. 25, authorized Public Works Director Tim Becker to sign a purchase order from Wolf Motors, Le Sueur, for a F550 XLT truck body at a cost of $44,694.00 and to sign a purchase order with Towmaster, Inc., Litchfield, for a dump box chip spreader for the truck at a cost of $30,804.00.
Becker stated that this will be used to place chips on the County 19 hill when it’s icy.  Becker said that the old one had high miles and was rusty so it was time to replace it.  The total replacement cost is $75,498.00.
County Commissioner Bobbie Harder questioned what else the truck would be used for.  Becker stated that the truck can also pull the road groomer in summer.
