By a 4-1 vote the Sibley County Board authorized Board Chairperson Bill Pinske to sign the 30 day notice of default for Sibley Wind Substation. The action took place at the County Board’s regular meeting on Tuesday morning, July 28.

The notice states that Sibley Wind Substation will have 30 days to comply with several conditions from the April 23, 2013 construction agreement that have not been met.  If Sibley Wind Substation fails to comply by August 28, the construction agreement signed by the Sibley County Board will be terminated.

The conditions that need to be met include: establish a new letter of credit in the amount of $500,000, start construction, provide an updated construction schedule, provide an updated delivery flow plan of materials, provide updated contractor, sub-contractor, material suppliers and equipment information for the project, schedule a new pre-construction meeting with the Board and county engineer, provide an updated map detailing heavy haul routes and apply for the appropriate oversize/overweight permits, adding and compacting five inches of crushed gravel to the surfaces of County Road 53 and 571st Avenue and nine inches of crushed gravel to 565th Avenue prior to the start of construction hauling, submit a new construction schedule, provide an updated maintenance schedule for the haul roads, provide updated information on providing traffic control information for the project and submit an updated traffic control plan.
