The School Board for the Green Isle Community School, during its regular monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon, May 14, voted 5-1 and approved a motion to move forward and keep the school open next year. In addition to the motion, the Green Isle City Council has pledged $50,000 to assist financially at the start of the next school year.

School Board members Sharon Ehrich (board chair and parent member), Kristen Strauss (board clerk, parent and teacher member), Lindsai Djerf (teacher Member), Pete Czarnecki (community member) and Kacy Honl (community member) voted in favor of the motion.
School Board member Nick Pollack (community member) voted against the motion. Pollack was concerned that the school could lose students once school starts and not have enough money to finish the school year.

School Board member Dan Brown (community member) was on vacation and was unable to attend the meeting.
