Mildred P. Lindemann

Mildred Pearl Lindemann, age 91, of Gaylord, passed away at the Oak Terrace Assisted Living in Gaylord on Saturday, May 16. 
Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20. Rev. R. Allan Reed officiated.
The organist was Norma Witte. 
Congregational hymns were “The Old Rugged Cross,” “My Faith Looks Up To Thee” and “Nearer My God To Thee.”
Special music was provided  by the grandchildren who sang “Jesus Loves Me.”
Casket bearers were the grandchildren, Michael Lindemann, Curt Brockoff, Jason Lobitz, Harlan Schauer, Rodney Rettig and Laura Speiss.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mildred Pearl Lindemann was born in Glencoe Township on Sept. 17, 1923. She was the daughter of Emil and Edith (Bethke) Grenke. Mildred was baptized as an infant on Oct. 14, 1923, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 10, 1938, by Reverend Kolbe, both at First Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.  She received her education in country school in Sumter Township.
On Feb. 23, 1941, Mildred was united in marriage to Harold Lindemann at First Lutheran Church in Glencoe. This marriage was blessed with six children, Mavis, Marilyn, Joyce, Larry, Joan and Norma.  Mildred and Harold resided and farmed in Penn Township. They shared 42 years of marriage until Harold passed away in 1983. After Harold passed away, Mildred resided at the Glenhurst Apartment in Glencoe for 25 years.
Mildred was a loving wife, mother, and partner in the farming operation. She raised chickens and sold the eggs. Mildred was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. 
Mildred enjoyed reading, listening to old time music and family gatherings. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
When Mildred needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Oak Terrace Assisted Living in Gaylord, Minnesota on September 14, 2012. 
Mildred is survived by her children, Marilyn (Clinton) Rettig of Brownton, Larry  (Edna Lou) Lindemann of Arlington, Joan (Randy) Brockoff of Green Isle, and Norma  (Wayne) Schauer  of Arlington; son-in-law, Fred Lobitz of Hamburg; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; twin brother, Maynard (Geraldine) Grenke of Glencoe; sister-in-law, Velma Lindemann of Arlington; brother-in-law, Walter Heuer of Glencoe; many other relatives and friends.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Edith Grenke; husband, Harold Lindemann; daughters, Mavis Lindemann, in infancy, and Joyce Lobitz; sisters, Gladys Becker and her husband, Arthur, and Alice Grenke; brothers, Leonard Grenke and his wife, Esther; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Lydia Brede, Ervin Lindemann, Elroy and Arlene Diehn, Marvin and Thusnelda Bielke, and Selda Heuer.
