The Sibley East School Board, at its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night, Nov. 17, approved a resolution for a special election on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 to elect a new school board member for an eight-month term. The resolution states that the election will be held between the hours of noon and 8 p.m.

The School Board also approved a resolution ratifying the combined polling places for special school district elections. The combined polling place in Green Isle will be the Green Isle City Hall. In Arlington, the combined polling place will be the Arlington City Office. In Gaylord, it will be Sibley East Junior High School.

The City of Green Isle requested to change the combined polling location from the Fire Hall to the City Hall.  Sibley East Superintendent Jim Amsden said that notices will have to be sent out to every registered voter in the City of Green Isle along with Green Isle Township and Washington Lake Township notifying them of the change in location.

The Board also approved the contract with Sibley County for election services for the special election.
