The Sibley East varsity boys basketball team opened its season with a 54-34 win over visiting Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial in non-conference action on Friday evening, Nov. 20.

Junior Devon Schultz and sophomore Austin Weckwerth topped Sibley East with 15 and 12 points respectively. Senior Collin Pautsch and sophomore Gavin Bates hit for eight points each while junior Connor Kranz scored seven points. Senior Dylan Pauly recorded three points while Kevin Durham, Jr. added one point.

The Wolverines hit 19 of 47 field goal attempts from two-point and three-point range for 40 percent. Sibley East also converted 13 of 23 free throw attempts for 57 percent.
