Well over 400 students and adults attended the sixth annual Sibley East American Education Banquet at the Arlington Community Center on Monday night, Nov. 18.
The highlight of the evening was the induction of three individuals into the Sibley East Wall of Fame. The three individuals included Milton Engelmann Family, Sue Vos and Mari Lu Martens.
These three individuals were nominated based on their commitments to education through their lifetime and/or graduation from a high school in the school district and using that education as a springboard to success.

Engelmann
Milton Engelmann was an entrepreneur, inventor and most notably a public spirited citizen who took great pride in his town of Green Isle. Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly in May of 1964.
“Milt,” as he was known to his many friends and associates, accomplished much in his 43 years of life. He was known for his keen business sense and ability to get things done. He had a vision for Green Isle’s future and vowed to make his town “as big as Arlington.” Although Milt had no more than a seventh grade education, through his natural talent, imagination, patience, energy and most importantly, his knack for getting along with others, he proceeded to leave his mark on the community.
