Velma B. Lindemann, 95, Arlington

Velma B. Lindemann, age 95, of Arlington, passed away at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Rev. Bruce Hanneman officiated.  
Visitation was held at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Tuesday, Nov. 17 and continued one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Interment was in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.  
Velma was born to Otto and Emma (Kleist) Schultz on Feb. 5, 1920. She was baptized on Feb. 22, 1920, and confirmed on April 9, 1933, all at St. Pauls’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Velma attended country school and later married Ervin R. Lindemann at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington on Nov. 2, 1941. They farmed in Arlington Township for many years, retiring to Arlington in 1972. She helped on their farm, and later worked for Big Stone Canning and the Good Samaritan Home in the dietary department. Velma enjoyed gardening, baking, holidays with family and time spent with family and friends. She was a member of the Mission Club at St. Paul’s Church.  
She is survived by her brother, Gilbert Schultz of Hutchinson; and a sister, Mabel Meyer of Arlington; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin on Aug. 17, 1999; brothers, Clarence and Elmer; sisters, Elva Schultz and Delores Mackenthun; brothers-in-law, Marvin Meyer and Harold Mackenthun; and sisters-in-law, Gertrude Schultz and Dorothy Schultz.
