Bonnie J. Skelley, 67, Belle Plaine

Bonnie Jean Skelley (née Pittsley), age 67, of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, June 20. She had been admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis on Thursday, June 9.
A funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Jessenland at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23.
Visitation was held at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. There was an LDS service at 7 p.m. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday morning, June 23.
Interment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Jessenland.  
Bonnie was born on March 14, 1949, and grew up in Eden Prairie. She was the daughter of Donald Harvey and Bonnie Pittsley (Bristol) and was later adopted by her father, Bennit Pittsley.
Bonnie married Patrick Skelley at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Jessenland on June 13, 1970. The two made their home in Belle Plaine where they raised their family. Bonnie worked for a time at Plastec and later worked for her husband Pat’s business, Cedar Auto Parts. She loved to crochet and in her younger years enjoyed bowling with her Tuesday night league and in her later years wintering in Arizona.
She was a devoted mother and was always there to help anyone who asked for words of encouragement, or just needed an invite to lunch. Bonnie made friends easily and was always ready to strike up a conversation.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Patrick Skelley; her six children, Matt (Diane), Mike (Francisco), Christian (David), Elisha, Mark (Candice), and Bridgette; eight grandchildren, Tony Ingerson, Tallen Lowe, Kade Skelley, Kiersten Skelley, Carrick Skelley, Maeve Skelley, Britney Sell and Blake Skelley; her mother, Bonnie Pittsley; sisters, Cindy Swenson, and April (Mike) Klegin; and brothers, Greg Harvey and Bennit (Rachelle) Pittsley.
She is preceded in death by her fathers, Donald Harvey and Bennit Pittsley; father-in-law, Michael Skelley; mother-in-law, Pearl Skelley (Holste); brother, Timothy Harvey; sister, Joanne Harvey-Pittsley; and grandson, Daniel.
