Staff at Trailblazer Transit told the Joint Powers Board Thursday that recent publicity regarding conflict at the transit system is hindering hiring.

Mark Lauer, one of two operations manager for Trailblazer, said he is glad the board has set a workshop to help define processes for dealing with issues at Trailblazer.

“I appreciate the time you’re going to spend at the workshop,” said Lauer.

Lauer said Trailblazer has had difficulty finding candidates for open driver and other positions because of “the negativity and conflict. People wonder why they would want to work here. It makes my job very difficult.”
