Preliminary tax levy reflects 4.2% hike in Arlington

The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, Sept. 19, unanimously adopted a resolution to approve the preliminary 2016 tax levy for collection in 2017.


According to City Administrator Liza Donabauer, the preliminary 2016 tax levy for collection in 2017 will increase from $768,902 to $791,644. This reflects an approximate 4.2 percent increase.


City Council members Michelle Battcher, Jim Heiland, James Jaszewski, Jennifer Nuesse and Galen Wills all voted in favor of the resolution.


The City Council made the decision after it held several budget workshops and met with the departments and committees.
