The visiting Sibley East varsity football team blanked Worthington 19-0 during the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday night, Oct. 25.
The game, which was slated to start at 7 p.m., was delayed for one hour due to rain and severe lightning.
“It was a great win for the kids,” said Sibley East head coach Chuck Hartman.
Sibley East scored its first touchdown on a 5-yard run by junior running back Jesus Rodriguez in the second quarter. Junior Holden Lindquist followed with the extra point kick as the Wolverines jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
