Arlington City Council votes to reduce fire call minimum

The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Tuesday night, Jan. 17, unanimously approved a motion to approve changes to Arlington Fire Department’s standard operating guidelines to reduce the call minimum from 25 percent to 20 percent.


The City Council made the move after a recommendation from the Fire Committee.


The Fire Commitee held a conversation about the difficulty of recruiting and retaining members. The local fire department has experienced an unusual number of resignations this past year.
