Junior Gavin Bates broke the Sibley East single game scoring record with 48 points as the Wolverines defeated visiting Mayer Lutheran 81-77 in Minnesota River Conference action on Friday night, Jan. 13.

Bates hit nine two-point shots, five three-pointers and 15 free throws.

In addition to the 48 points from Bates, senior Conner Kranz and junior Austin Weckwerth hit for 14 and 13 points respectively. Senior Devon Schultz dumped in four points while senior Scott Holmquist added two points.
