The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, March 20, learned that the Seneca Foods Corporation has received an offer for the building in Arlington.

Seneca Foods representative Jon Brekken informed City Administrator Liza Donabauer about the news on Wednesday, March 15.

Brekken, according to the correspondence, disclosed to the potential buyer that a purchase agreement between the City of Arlington and Seneca Foods existed for a section of nearby land. Brekken stated that the potential buyer did not have an issue with the sale of nearby land between Seneca Foods and the City of Arlington. He further stated that the potential buyer may also be willing to sell that portion of land, but there is no guarantee. The purchase offer from the potential buyer, according to Brekken, was below the asking price so Seneca Foods intended to make a counter offer.
