The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, March 20, unanimously approved a motion to authorize the purchase of a 2018 fire brush rig with a total cost not to exceed $45,000.

The City Council made the move after a recommendation from Arlington Fire Chief John Zaske.

The one-ton Chevrolet pickup, which will be purchased from Brau Motors,  Arlington, will replace the current 1988 fire brush rig, according to Zaske. A majority of the equipment on the 1988 pickup will be transferred to the 2018 pickup. The new pickup will be delivered sometime this summer. The 1988 pickup will be placed on a silent auction at the Arlington City Office.
