Herbert Schuth, 90, formerly of Glencoe

Herbert William August Schuth, age 90, of Silver Lake, and formerly of Glencoe, passed away at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake on Monday, May 15.
Funeral services were held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, McLeod County, at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18. Pastor Dennis Reichow officiated. The organist was Christy Ittel.
Congregational hymns   were “What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” and “I’m But A Stranger Here.”
Casket bearers were James Dammann, Brian Dammann, Kevin Cohrs, Larry Litzau, Roger Schuth, Ronald Schuth, Donald Dammann and Tim Schuth.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Herbert William August Schuth was born in Helen Township, McLeod County, on Nov. 9, 1926.  He was the son of Karl and Anna (Tanke) Schuth, Sr. Herbert was baptized as an infant on Nov. 21, 1926, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 27, 1941, both by Rev. Dysterheft at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, McLeod County.  His confirmation verse was John 14:23.  Herbert received his education at St. John’s parochial school.          
Herbert made his home on the family farm in Helen Township. He was a dairy farmer with his father and brother.  Herbert was a lifelong member at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township.  
Herbert enjoyed watching ball games and game shows on television and helping other farmers, especially his neighbors.  When he moved to Millie Beneke Manor and later Cedar Crest, Herbert enjoyed visiting with others there.
Herbert is survived by his brother, Carl (Lucy) Schuth  of Waconia; nephews, Elroy (Mae) Schuette of Hutchinson, Elmer (Yvonne) Schuette  of Glencoe, Howard (Sharon) Schuette of Green Isle, and Eric (Lisa) Hellerud-Schuth  of Waconia; niece, Christina (Kevin) Roles of Minnetonka; other relatives and many friends.
Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Anna Schuth; brother, Albert Schuth; sister, Emma Schuette and her husband, Clarence.
