Marion Woehler, age 91, of Arlington passed away at the Arlington Good Samaritan Society on Monday, May 22.
A memorial service will take place at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25. Rev. Deborah Dawson will officiate.
A visitation took place at the church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24. It will continue one hour prior to the service time at the church on Thursday, May 25.
Interment will take place in St. John’s of New Rome Cemetery.
Marion was born to Paul and Marie (Ehlers) Marquardt in Kelso Township, Sibley County, on May 28, 1925. She attended and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1943. She attended cosmetology school but other interests kept her from completing the course. She married Robert F. Woehler at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church of New Rome on May 28, 1944. She worked as a seamstress, homemaker and daycare provider for her grandkids. She made the best apple pies and meatballs as well as liking flowers and working on her yard. Marion was a member of the Rush River Birthday Club and the Sibley County Choir. She loved going to concerts and with her sewing abilities designed and sewed 12 wedding dresses as well as many other fineries.
Marion is survived by her children, Bobette (Doug) Schauer of Arlington, Anita Woehler of Falls Church, Va., Leanna (John) Fluegge of New Ulm, Andrea (Todd) Brinkman of Lafayette and John (Lana) Woehler of Arlington; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith (Robert) Schleeve of Le Sueur, sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Marquardt of Arlington and Pauline Woehler of Gaylord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Charles and Amanda Woehler; husband, Robert; brothers, Joe and William “Sonny” Marquardt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine Marquardt, Louis Woehler, and Carl and Esther Woehler.
