The Arlington City Council, during a recent regular meeting, received some good news and some bad news from  the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).

The good news is that a recent MnDOT speed study determined that the 45 mile per hour zone should be revised to a 40 mile per hour speed limit zone along Highway 5 on the northeast section of Arlington. The study also determined that the 60 mile per hour sign should be relocated to a point approximately 100 feet of Marion Drive which is a further easterly direction than the current location.

The bad news is that the revision in the speed limit fell short of the request from the City of Arlington.
