Sandra ‘Sandy’ Klaers, 44, Arlington

Sandra “Sandy” Klaers, age 44, of Arlington, passed away unexpectedly at the Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington on Sunday, Sept. 10.
A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
Pastor Scott Richards and Pastor Paul Kratzke will officiate.
The organist will be Curt Kahle. Soloist Tommy Molash will sing “On Eagle’s Wings.”
Congregational hymns will be “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at the church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 and one hour prior to the church service on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Memorials are preferred.
Sandra “Sandy” Debra Klaers was born in Arlington on Oct. 24, 1972. She was the daughter of Ivan and Darlene (Hardel) Prahl. Sandy was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith, both at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township. She received her education in Arlington and was in the first class of Sibley East High School graduating in 1991.
On Sept. 2, 1995, Sandy was united in marriage to Patrick Klaers at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Arlington. She was employed in accounting at Minnesota Valley Electric; Vet Assistant, Cenex in Arlington, a paraprofessional at the Sibley East Schools and most recently as a bus driver for Sibley East Schools. This union was blessed with two sons. Sandy and Patrick shared 22 years of marriage.
Sandy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township and American Lutheran Church in Gaylord. She taught Sunday school and was a Luther League Group Leader. She was also a member of Cattle Women Association, Women of Today, volunteered with 4-H and FFA, was a 4-H leader and served on several 4-H committees. She was also the co-leader for the 4-H dog project and was a 4-H Federation advisor.
Sandy had a heart of gold, loved giving her time to others, loved to laugh and found fun in every situation. She and Patrick were a team and always up for an adventure. She loved family vacations and making memories with her family. Sandy attended all her children’s sporting events and school activities. She was a very supportive mom.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Patrick “Pat” Klaers of Arlington; sons,                     Zachary Klaers (special friend, Dae Wilson) of Arlington, and Benjamin Klaers of Arlington; siblings, Debbie (Bob) Colter of Mankato, and Dave Prahl of Arlington;               nieces, Amy (Tommy) Molash of Willmar, and Chrissy Haggenmiller of Arlington; nephew, Brian Kley of Mankato; brothers-in-law, Tim (Wanda) Klaers of Sauk Rapids, Bill (Jane) Klaers of Battle Lake, and Mike (Christine) Klaers of Grand Forks; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Carol Klaers of Watkins; uncle, Clinton (Ruth) Prahl of Le Sueur; aunts, Lucy Carlson of West St. Paul, Godmother, Mary Prahl of West St. Paul, and Charlotte Hardel of Arlington; God Parent, Gary Hardel of Chaska; many, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Darlene Prahl.
