American Education Week Banquet is well attended on Monday

Well over 400 students and adults attended the eighth annual Sibley East American Education Banquet at the Arlington Community Center on Monday night, Nov. 20.

Five Awards
Five awards were presented to current and former staff and community members.
Chad Johnson received the Teacher of the Year Award.
Jeremy Wagner received the Support Person of the Year Award.
Ann Bruellman received the Outstanding Retiree of the Year Award.
Steve and Mary Langhorst received the Friend of Education Award.
Anna Willmsen received the Paraprofessional of the Year Award.

Maynard Rucks
The highlight of the evening was the induction of Maynard Rucks into the Sibley East Wall of Fame.
Rucks, who graduated from the Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1960, owned and worked in the farm equipment business for approximately 20 years. He later worked as a rural carrier for the Post Office in Chanhassen. Rucks, who is now retired, also owns a custom combining business.
Rucks has been an active volunteer for many organizations and groups over the years.
