Patrick Melvin begins duties as new city administrator

Patrick Melvin recently began his duties as the new city administrator for the City of Arlington.


Melvin was born and grew up in Edina where his parents were both teachers. He graduated from Edina High School in 1991.
He attended St. John’s University in Collegeville where he majored in government and minored in management. He graduated in 1995.


Melvin worked part-time as a special projects manager for the City of Edina from 1995 through 1998. He worked on a variety of projects. The most significant project was the South Metro Public Safety Training facility.
