Open house at Sibley County Museum to be held on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 7

The Sibley County Historical Society (SCHS) invites people to an open house at the Sibley County Museum from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7. Guides will be on hand to give tours. The event is free.

Special programs are scheduled at 1:30  p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Deb Wiprud and Joy Berg would like to share their gifts of music. Berg’s daughter, Debra Olsen, will accompany them. Wiprud and Berg have been singing together professionally for 20 years with Crow River Singers of Hutchinson and have volunteered to produce a “Christmas Sing-Along.”

SCHS has received many gifts in 2017 and will share the history of a few of them during the program.

Visitors will also see demonstrations of making lefse by Betty Rud and making sandbakkelse by Maxine Rickard, which will be served with other refreshments.
