Marvin L. Bethke, age 84, of Henderson, passed away at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia on Sunday, May 13.
Memorial services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday, May 19.
Interment will be in St. John’s of New Rome Cemetery.
Marvin was born to Louis and Lydia Bethke on June 6, 1933. In 1955, he married Shirley Bauer of Gaylord and they made their home on Marvin’s Timberview Family farm. In 2017, they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on May 21.
Marvin raised animals and crops and then worked at John Deere Equipment in Arlington and Glencoe and remained a farmer until his passing. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, traveling and woodworking.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Shirley Bethke of rural Henderson; his five children, Kevin Bethke (Beth Alwin) of Illinois, Rhonda Brau of Minnesota, Jan Bethke (Steven Harsh) of Virginia, Craig Bethke of Minnesota and James Bethke (Kathryn Papillon) of Texas; grandchildren, Giselle Alwin Bethke, Justin Bethke, Logan Brau, Calder Alwin Bethke and Briana Brau; sister, Elaine Blade; as well as many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lydia Bethke; and son-in-law, Bill Brau.
Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is assisting the family with arrangements.
