The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, July 16, unanimously approved a motion to authorize the hiring of two part-time police officers for the Arlington Police Department.

City Council members Michelle Battcher, Adam Cowell, Tom Hatlestad, Jim Heiland and James Jaszewski all voted in favor of the motion.

The use of part-time officers will be to supplement regular, full-time officers’ time off and to be assigned to work extra shifts for special occasions designated by the chief of police.
