Thomas Joseph Scharping, age 74 of Minnetonka, passed away on June 30 after a long battle with cancer.
A funeral mass was held at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 215, Eighth Street, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11.
Visitation was held at the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th Street and Highway 100) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10. It continued one hour prior to the church service at the church on Wednesday, July 11.
A private interment was at Fort Snelling.
Thomas was born in Glencoe on Nov. 29, 1943. He was a barber for 48 years and was owner of T Sharp Hair plus past chapter President of AMBBA. He was an avid landscaper, gardener, generous workhorse and jokester. Tom's humor and personality made time in his barber chair more than just a haircut. We were blessed and grateful to have this darling man in our lives.
He is survived by beloved wife, Kris (Anderson) Scharping; nephews; nieces; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.
He is preceded in death by parents, Lester and Rosalia Scharping; and siblings George, Mary Falink, Judy Vos and infant Elizabeth.
