By Kurt Menk

The Sibley East varsity football team lost to visiting Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 33-12 on Friday night, Sept. 28.

The Wolverines got on the scoreboard first after a 17-yard touchdown run by junior running back Lincoln Carpenter. The run capped a 63-yard drive. A run for the two-point conversion was no good as Sibley East jumped out to a 6-0 lead with 2:23 left in the first quarter. It was the first time the Wolverines had enjoyed a lead in any game this season.

The visitors countered with a 64-yard touchdown pass about two minutes later. LC-WM converted the extra point kick and grabbed a 7-6 lead with 15 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
