The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, Oct. 15, held the first reading of an ordinance to amend a chapter and allow the keeping of chickens and ducks in residential areas.

Under the proposed amendment, residents would be subject to the issuance of an administrative permit from the City of Arlington.
Residents would be able to keep a maximum of six of any combination of chickens and ducks.

They would be limited to keeping only female chickens and ducks. No roosters or drakes would be allowed.
