The Sibley County Board, during its regular meeting on Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, unanimously approved a motion to approve the appointment of Jeremy Templin as chief deputy at a starting rate of $41.16 per hour.

County Commissioner Bobbie Harder raised concerns over Templin’s pay and questioned Sheriff Pat Nienaber about it.  Nienaber replied that “Jeremy is doing the same job I was doing and I believe that’s what he should be making.”

Harder questioned what the minimum and the maximum pay range was for the position.  County Administrator Roxy Traxler did not have the information with her, but stated that based on the years he has been with the county, five years as an investigator and 18 years with Sibley County, he was about in the middle of the pay range.
