The Sibley East varsity girls basketball team split a pair of games in action during the past week.
The Lady Wolverines, 1-5 in the Minnesota River Conference and 4-5 overall, will host Mayer Lutheran in conference play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. Sibley East will also host Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in non-conference action at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21.

The Sibley East varsity girls basketball team stayed within four points at halftime, but eventually lost to visiting Belle Plaine 70-50 in Minnesota River Conference action on Thursday evening, Jan. 10.

Senior Rachel Rettmann poured in 23 points for the Lady Wolverines. Junior Mc-Kenzie Latzke and sophomore Audrey Parrott also hit double figures with 10 points apiece. Junior Lily Beneke tossed in four points while sophomore Rachel Widmer had two points. Junior Lexy Stock added one point.
