Community Giving Hope announces that Aaron Scharpe, rural Green Isle, has been selected as the 2019 Cancer Cruise recipient.

Activities
The 2019 Cancer Cruise will be held on Saturday, May 18.  The morning starts off with a 5K Fun Run/Walk at Four Seasons Park in Arlington at 9 a.m.

Pre-registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt. The deadline for pre-registration is Saturday, April 20. Registration after that date is $30 and t-shirts are not guaranteed. Registration will be held on the day of the event at 8 a.m.

Immediately following the 5K, the group shifts gears, and heads to the parking lot of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington for a roll-in type car show. The Car Show will start at 11 a.m.  Any street legal vehicle is welcome for the car show — classics, hot rods, rat rods, motorcycles — the group does not discriminate. There is a $10 entry fee per vehicle. Vehicle pre-registration is not required.

Concessions are provided by and benefit the church. There will be a DJ onsite playing all types of music, along with trivia and prizes. 
The Cancer Cruise will leave Arlington at 4 p.m. Anyone interested can go with the group on an approximate 50-mile cruise through the eastern part of Sibley County.

A hog roast supper will follow the cruise more than likely at the Green Isle Baseball Park.  
One hundred percent of  the proceeds raised at the 5K Run/Walk, Car Show and hog roast supper will go to assist Aaron with his medical expenses.
