Anna Zumhofe, age 92, of Gaylord passed away at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord on Tuesday, May 1.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gaylord at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5. Father Aaron Johanneck and Father Jerry Berger officiated.
The organist was Sherri Kaufmann while Iris Parrott was the song leader.
Congregational hymns were “Grant Them Eternal Rest,” “The Lord Is My Shepherd,” “How Great Thou Art,” “The King Of Love My Shepherd Is,” “Song Of Farewell” and “May The Angels Guide You.”
Casket bearers were nephews, Patrick O'Neill, Joe Berger, Tim Berger, Don Berger, James Berger, Mike McGuire, Terry McGuire and Robert McGuire.
Interment was in the Gaylord City Cemetery.
Anna Bernette Zumhofe was born n Jessenland Township, Sibley County, on Nov. 20, 1925. She was the daughter of August and Margaret (Ryan) Berger. Anna was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She was a graduate of the Arlington High School. She was employed as a clerk/secretary for the Sibley County Auditor until her marriage.
On Nov. 6, 1948, Anna was united in marriage to Calvin Zumhofe at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Green Isle. After their marriage, the couple resided in New Ulm. In 1954, they moved to Winthrop and in 1971 they moved to Gaylord. She worked for the Brown County Highway Department as an accountant; Malmquist Oil in Winthrop as a bookkeeper; and finally as an accountant for the Sibley County Highway Department until her retirement.
Anna and Calvin were blessed with two sons. They shared 64 years of marriage before Calvin passed away on Dec. 2, 2012.
Anna was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gaylord.
Anna had a wonderful sense of humor and she was always smiling. She enjoyed shopping and visiting with friends and neighbors. Anna cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, Anna became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center and passed away there on Tuesday, May 1, at the age of 92 years. Blessed be her memory.
Anna is survived by her sons, John (Laura) Zumhofe  of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Jeff (Joan) Zumhofe of Winthrop; grandchildren, Holly (Jack) Rentschler of Sioux Falls, S.D., Berta (Michael) Needham of Minneapolis, Alyson (Brian) Henning of Mounds View,  Sean Zumhofe  (fiancé, Cassy) of New Brighton, and Carla (Aaron) Weikle,of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Holiday Rentschler, Rockwell Rentschler, Isaiah Needham, Mariah Needham, Royalty Taylor, Ronan Henning, Gavin Henning, Louisa Weikle, Henry Weikle and Malcolm Weikle; many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, August and Margaret Berger; husband, Calvin Zumhofe; siblings and spouses, Mary Irene (Tom) O'Neill, John Earl (Marsha) Berger, Peter LeRoy (Catherine) Berger, Margaret Bernice (Claude) McGuire; in-laws and spouses, LeRoy (Orlene) Carlin, Helen (Carl) Hanson, Edward Carlin, Vivian (Robert) Renneke, Dorothy (Walter) Thompson, Caroline Zumhofe and Ken (Janice) Zumhofe.
