Arlington approves contract with Amy Newsom to serve as community development director

The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, Oct. 7, unanimously approved a motion to approve a two-year contract with Amy Newsom to serve as the new community development director for the City of Arlington. Her annual salary will be $54,080 with benefits. She will begin her employment with the City of Arlington on Friday, Nov. 15.


City Council members Michelle Battcher, Adam Cowell, Laura Gilman, Tom Hatlestad and Joe Morgan all voted in support of the motion.


Newsom is expected to submit her resignation from her current community development program manager position with Sibley County at its next meeting on Tuesday morning, Oct. 22.
