The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, Oct. 1, unanimously approved a motion for Arlington Economic Development Authority (EDA) Director Amy Newsom to submit an application to the Laura Jane Musser Fund for a Rural Initiative grant to plan a Choose Arlington contest in the community. The application is seeking $5,000.

The whole idea behind the Choose Arlington contest is for the Arlington EDA to offer incentives and attract an individual to start or relocate a business on Main Street. If the grant is received, the Arlington EDA plans to collaborate with other organizations in this endeavor.
