Sibley County Auditor-Treasurer Marilee Peterson recently presented basic information on mail ballot precincts to the Green Isle City Council.

The City Council must decide whether or not to proceed with a mail ballot by April 1 to eliminate the cost of $2,890.58 for new election equipment.

According to Peterson, cities with 400 or under registered voters have an opportunity to proceed with a mail ballot. The City of Green Isle currently has 317 registered voters. Other cities in Sibley County that qualify are Gibbon and New Auburn.
