The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, Aug. 6, unanimously approved a motion to accept a resignation from recently hired Administrative Assistant Shannon Nix. She has accepted employment with the University of Minnesota, according to City Administrator Patrick Melvin.

The City Council, after much discussion, unanimously approved a motion to advertise for an administrative assistant at 32 hours week. The wage will be $14 per hour with pro-rated benefits through the end of the year.

The position, according to City Administrator Patrick Melvin, could possibly turn into a full-time position in 2019.
